Women’s Ice Hockey


The 10th-ranked Penn State Women's Ice Hockey team completed the two-game sweep of Syracuse with a 4-1 victory on Saturday. With the win, the Nittany Lions clinched the College Hockey America Regular Season title. Kiara Zanon, Tessa Janecke and Izzy Heminger each received a College Hockey America weekly award on Monday. Additionally, Zanon leads the Nation in goals after scoring her 23rd of the season this past weekend.


Football


Last week, 4-star Offensive Tackle, Chimdy Onoh, committed to Penn State which will likely be there last commit of the 2023 recruiting class. Former Penn State Wide Receiver, Mitchell Tinsley, impressed scouts during his Shrine Bowl appearance last Thursday as he continues to prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft. Lastly, Head Coach James Franklin was celebrated during Black History Month as the all-time leader in FBS wins & win percentage for an African American Head Coach.


Basketball


Unfortunately, Penn State Men's Basketball dropped two Big Ten Conference games this week on the road at Purdue & Nebraska. The Nittany Lions look to finish strong in hopes of making an NCAA Tournament run this March. On a positive note, Jalen Pickett has been named 1 of 10 finalists for the Bob Cousy Award. This award is given to the Nation's top point guard for college basketball.


Wrestling


Over the weekend, Penn State Men's Wrestling won two Big Ten matches on the road against Ohio St. and Indiana. As they wrap up their Big Ten Conference matches, the Nittany Lions will face off at Rutgers this Friday and at home against Maryland this Sunday.


Men’s and Women’s Tennis


On Sunday, the Men’s Tennis team won 6-1 against Villanova. They are set to match up against Princeton and William & Mary this weekend with both matches being played here in State College. On the Women’s side, the Nittany Lions defeated West Virginia by a score of 6-1. Their next matches will both be at home this Saturday against Kentucky and St. Francis.


Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse


In their season opener, the Men’s Lacrosse team defeated Lafayette 21-11. The Big Ten announced that the two programs will have a combined 8 televised games on either Big Ten Network or ESPN U this upcoming season. Make sure to stay tuned!


Men’s Volleyball


Last Saturday, the #4 ranked Men's Volleyball team handed #2 ranked UCLA their first loss of the season with a 3-1 win. The Nittany Lions begin their season with a record of 8-1 and are set to go on the road to face St. Francis this upcoming Saturday.
