Baseball
The Nittany Lions improved their record to 4-2 with a win against the Northern Illinois Huskies and Monmouth Hawks. Starting the weekend off, Penn State won both games against NIU and Daniel Ouderkirk struck out a career-high batters in seven innings, allowing one run on three hits in game two. Even though their game against Maine was canceled, they exploded for 7 runs against Monmouth. Tommy Molsky, Jaden Henline, and Connor Throneberry all pitched during the Monmouth game, allowing 3 runs. Next up, the team head to North Carolina to face Wagner, Dartmouth, and Holy Cross.
Women's Hockey
Penn State Women's Hockey is ranked number 10 and has advanced to the Cha Championship after 7-1 victory over Lindenwood. The Nittany Lions scored three goals in the first period by Kendall Butze, Kiara Zanon, and Lexi Bedier which kept them in the lead for the remainder of the game. Next time, Penn State will host Mercyhurst at Pegula Ice Arena on March 4.
Men's Volleyball
Penn State Men's Volleyball dominated NJIT with a win of 13-1. To accomplish this victory, Toby Ezeonu recorded 14 kills and 4 blocks. Also, Cal Fisher had 10 kills in the last two sets after a slow start. Penn State will be going out west this weekend to play against Concordia and #6 Irvine.
Men's Lacrosse
The Nittany Lions victory to No. 7 Yale Bulldogs 13-11 during Saturday's game. Multiple goals were recorded by TJ Malone, Matt Traynor, and Jeb Brenfleck in the win. This upcoming Saturday, Penn State faces UPenn at Panzer Stadium.
M & W Track & Field
Penn State T&F had 6 medalists on the final day of the Big Ten Championships. Olivier Desmeules and Handal Roban finished 1st and 2nd in the 800-meter run. Rachel Gearing and Hayley Kitching took 1st place and 2nd place in the 800-meter run. The Nittany Lions are traveling to Albuquerque, N.M. for the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championship on March 10 and 11.
